I recently acquired a new Canal Street Cutlery Cannitler. This is my first knife in this pattern ,and may very well become my favorite pattern. This is my first knife from CSC, and I am very impressed with the fit and finish. The main blade snaps tight, and all three blades have great edge, very sharp out of the box. I think I will enjoy the D2 from them. It has External Ram's horn handles, which look really cool. I like this one so much i sold a knife so I could get another one, in the amber jigged bone. Looking forward to that too! I have loved stockmans, and never had a whittler, or whittler variation before this, but I think I prefer this. I like the main blade as being on its own, and the two smaller blades separate at the other end.

I ordered the 2007 forum knife, so I have that one, but I've been considering getting one in the amber jigged bone as well. I think you might have just pushed me over the edge.

Sounds like the CSC cannitler I'd like to have. Who are you ordering these from?

Sooner State Knives has the Cannitler in an exclusive variation(1 of 30) with dark blue jigged bone and D2 blades. Only $8 more than the standard amber jigged bone with 420HC blades.

I got the amber bone D2 CSC Cannitler for Christmas. It is indeed a great knife. Mine had a pretty uneven grind on the main blade, but nothing too bad, since it's a user. One thing I really like about it, is the colors of the amber bone. They did a superb job on it. Congrats on the new knife.

I've got a number of CSC knives and have been very impressed with each of them. The only negative I've heard on their knives is that some people don't like 420HC, and the majority of their knives are available only with this steel. Well, that and their knives are so nice you may not want to actually use them... :D

The Cannitler that I have now, in D2 and Ram's horn came from Dereck Bohn(hope I spelled your name right) of Knivesshipfree. The amber jigged bone with D2 is coming from AG Russell. And the grinds on the Main Blade I have now is pretty even, I am over all pleased with it. I know some don't like the 420 steel, but they also make 440C, D2, A2, and I heard there are other options coming. Overall, I would recommend their knives. This cannitler is a nice size, and a lot of blade for the package.

Glad you liked it. The Canal St consistently impresses me. The Ram's Horn is top notch.

This one is in D2--I haven't seen any of this pattern in 420ss.

okbohn- do you have a picture of the knife open?? I love Canoe's but some do not have the right aesthetic when opened IMO. Thanks

Thank you.

I have one of the BF Cannitlers. I was very impressed with it when I recieved it. I have to say that the amber bone that AG is offering is very nice looking. The Mastadon we got looks excellent as well, and ours came in D2. From the second I saw it, I liked the pattern- practical yet elegant as most traditionals are.
