I recently bought one each of these and really like them and intend to use them. The wood grain figuring is very nice. The first trapper had a little bit of spring gap going about 1/3 of the way from pivot end on up. This would not have hurt it's use but for what I paid well... I exchanged for another. Both now have excellent fit an finish and snap and in 440C. Hurray for the true successor for Schrade canal Street.

I need to get some cash together and pick up the CSC Pinch with the American Chestnut scales. Sort of a sentimental reason, as the wife and I actually visited the barn they got the wood from when I was stationed at Fort Campbell.

Be sure to post some pics when you can. I'm interested to see them.

Pat.

I wish I could tell you where I got mine as he has the best prices( but against forum rules) I found and amazing enough is only about 50 miles away from me. Didn't know about his store before but checked and has a good reputation. I know what you man about sentimental. My dad gave me two Schrade 8Ot's when I was 12 which unfortunately I lost but now have 3 not counting the better scaled 881 open stock. Too bad Wally Gardiner couldn't have bought the rights to the Schrade name instead of St... Tay...
But yes you need to get a couple if you can. As you probably know due to the blight American Chestnut wood is gone so when these knives are sold out no more.
