Canal Street Cutlery back from the dead?

I was under the impression that Canal Street Cutlery had gone under. Today, though, I saw that the older gentleman in Arkansas (not sure if I can mention the name of the business here) has both a traditional fixed blade and a modern tactical folder (odd, huh?) for sale under the Canal Street label.

Anyone have any further information about Canal Street Cutlery?

I would love for them to make a comeback, but I haven't heard anything. I hope that there is such good news to be found.

In the info for the modern tactical knife it says "csGreen River Tactical is a new division of Dexter-Russell, Inc., the largest manufacturer of professional cutlery in the United States. At the helm of the new division is Wally Gardiner, CEO/owner of Canal Street Cutlery. Hoping to enter the gun accessory market with this new category of tactical knives, csGreen River Tactical is introducing these two new models, a clip point and a drop point - both available in two handle colors."

Liked their more traditional line, will have to see how this develops.

I did not see any traditional or modern folders at their website.
As for the fixed blades, they might be o.k., but at $200 and up a pop ... I'll pass.

On the AGR website, the Canal Street "Cornhusker Hunter's Pride" traditional fixed blade is $160.

WoodMan, I believe that's old stock, we made those shortly before the close. Not positive on the Dexter Russell collaboration, I know it was started during the last year or so of Canal Street's existence, but not sure if it continued after they closed. Those were manufactured and assembled entirely at Dexter. My guess is that they're old stock too.

I thought those were NOS Eric thanks for the clarification. There's at least one dealer (non BF registered so I can't name them here) that has a few trappers left.

Don't forget to look for those Ka-bar dog's heads and Moore Maker lockbacks. I see them from time to time as well. Different imprimatur, same great quality.
Thanks, Neal

Started this thread back in August when I saw some Canal Street knives being sold by AGR. Today, I noticed that a retailer in Knoxville, TN who also carries a large selection of Case and is very active on EBay (under 2 different names) has 5 different Canal Street knives in inventory. So, I'm wondering if these are legit, newly manufactured knives or NOS or what?

Once again, I'd like to know is Canal Street back?

The Canal Street pieces you’re looking at are all older and manufacture while CS was in business....as far as CS being back...don’t hold your breath
