Hope to see a few of you there!

wish I could - that would be a grand way to spend a day.
unfortunately, i have to work that weekend -- and it's a bit of a commute.

Would've been nice if I knew about CSC when I still lived in Albany. Only about an hour and a half away. Maybe I can get one of my hometown buddies to drop in.

Thanks for the heads-up!! I'm not that much into this company, are they any good?? I mean Schrade when they closed weren't that good. I have a friend who probably would like to go since he likes good modern knives.

I have two knives from Canal Street, a single blade trapper and a stockman. They are very well made. I'd say mine were on a par with GEC for build quality.

To my knowledge, Canal Street only does stainless. (I consider D2 to be closer to stainless than to non-stainless.) I am unaware of any carbon steel bladed knives. Not sure if that's a negative to you. It is not to me.

Gunsil, if you're in the lower Hudson Valley you must be mighty close, stop on by, window shopping's perfectly acceptable, plus you get to see us toiling away on the Christmas orders :D

Frank, D2, 14-4CrMo, and 440C are the steels de rigueur, the only 1095 we currently use is for the Mooremaker knives.

Thanks, yeah, I'm about an hour from Ellenville, used to do some caving up there. I'd love to see your knives being made, hopefully I'll find the time to go.

Eric, are you guys working on the 14th also or just the 13th? I can make the 14th and would like to view the factory.

Russell

Whether you like them or not, never pass up the opportunity to visit a knife company if you are that close. I'm hoping to make the GEC/Queen get together next year, and I'm about six hours away .

We need pics of the event.

Dan, I should have some shots of the get together, hope I don't forget the camera!

Hey Russell! Most of the folks are off on the 14th, but I should be there along with a couple of others doing some catch up work. It'd be great to see you!

In that case Eric I will be up there on the Saturday morning, see you then.

Man, I sure wish I could make that Eric, I could even help you catch up on some work, LOL!

That would be a big thrill to see a professional operation in action.

Glenn

Wish you weren't so many thousand miles away, Eric!! It would be great to visit you in your native habitat!;)

Charlie and Glenn, it'd be a blast to see you guys for sure!! Glenn, you would definitely enjoy the experience, including the work! ;):D

Eric

Wish I was even in the same time zone! For those near by I would not miss this one! Steven

Wish I could make it but have to work today and tomorrow. I was there a few months ago with my son and met Eric and the gang. Definitely worth visiting. Luckily, I'm only about 45 minutes from the factory so a future visit is not a problem.

I picture it something like this, especially at this time of year:

Amazingly close, yes? :)

Eric, I always appreciate your contributions here, and would love to make the trip sometime and meet you. I hope the Open House goes well.

Canal St doesn't get nearly enough good press. Their knives are different than others on the market, but they are very nice.
