Anyone know if there is a standout difference in the Two blade Muskrat and the Two blade Muskrat, that Canal Street Cutlery make? I know that reads weird but they have just introduced a new Muskrat model.

Do you have model numbers? Two models with exactly the same name is kind of strange and hard to differentiate.

take a look at the blades and bolsters-the new one has a nicer looking blades and bolsters-

Model numbers are 212305 for the original, and 212320 for the new model, just seems that it must be, just and update on design, curious if there were any other reasons, to have two muskrats in the lineup.

The new version has threaded bolsters and appears to have more pronounced swedging on the blades. A little added expense in finishing, reflected in a bit higher MSRP.

I have one that I bought six months ago here in the UK , been carrying it ever since. Very well finished and scary sharp. Blades are Turkish clip in style .

Cheers ,
Paul.

Is the blade steel on these knives pretty good ......on par with Case's and S&M's 420HC ? I haven't heard much talk about Canal Street Cutlery as "users"....sure are well finished though !

-Regards

Blade steel on mine is fine , thought no idea what it is . My cv Case stockman got rust spots really quickly and that was even with good care and no abuse , no such problems with the Muskrat .
I was originally after the Canal St Stockman , but I liked the Muskrat better when I saw them in the metal.

Paul.
