I have a number of Canal Street Cutlery knives that i really like, but havent seen anything in the forums about them, anybody have any thoughts?

They are really great knives, very well made and priced reasonably. I like the fact the do special runs in harder to find scale material but don't charge an arm and a leg for doing so. Currently AG Russell is offering limited run ram's horn on three of their models at the same price as you would pay for the jigged bone. I want to pick up one of the horn handled camp bowies in the near future.

I have a gunstock trapper in amber jigged bone. I'd say the quality is probably somewhere between a regular Queen knife and the Schatt & Morgan line, I've heard some of the materials do come from Queen Cutlery.

I like the way Canal St finished the blades on my trapper ( satin on one side , polished on the other) and the fact that there's no graphics on any of the blades.

They make a reverse gunstock stockman that I have my eye on.

Go hang out in the Traditional forum. Canal Street gets mentioned quite a bit.

The fixed blade in D2, stockman, and large 2 blade folding hunter which I bought a while ago are all exceptionally well made.

I'd like to see them offer their folders in a blade steel better than what they call "420".

They did the 2006 and 2007 knives for the Traditional Forums here at BFC.

The 2006 knife was one of their ring openers in Stag and A2 blade steel while as mentioned the 2007 was a Cannitler pattern in Mamoth Ivory and D2.

I like everything I have seen from them, but like others prefer the A2 and D2 over the 420, but they do a good job on the 420.
