and the forum knife turned out excellent-we did another forum knife this year from canal street also-a canittler with mammoth ivory and scrolled bolsters

A2 was the steel used for the BF run. The ones on your link are 420. Nothing to be confused about.

The A~2 on the bf.com run is great. I can tell you without hesitation that the steel preforms very well.:thumbup:

I think Sooner State was just assuming the steel was the same as the other CS knives. The ring openers are all A2 steel. Here's a shot of the forum knife:
