Anyone have a canal street reverse gunstock? is it about the same thickness as a regular gunstock? How is the quality?

I have the regular gunstock in amber bone, but the reverse is on my list...

Some here have commented about spotty QC, but my knife is very well made. It's one of a few knives that have actually impressed me at first glance out of the box.

The blades are satin finished on one side and high polished on the other. I also like the fact that there's no graphics on the blade.

The picture is my CS knife (right) with a S&M swayback trapper.

I haven't handled the gunstock, but I do have a couple of Canal Street knives.
A D2 fixed blade and a small stockman.

They're both really nicely made.
(The fixed blade's sheath is a high quality piece of work too.)

Great pictures, JPD, that reg gunstock may go on my list too, hummm, that trapper looks so nice too.

They're both very well made, but I think the S&M is just a bit better as far a fit & finish. But like most Schatts, it was not that sharp out of the box.

IMO even though the S&M swayback is bigger, the CS trapper reminds me more of a "user", but still nice looking ( if that makes any sense).

Anyway both are roughly around the same price...Sooner State Knives has the best prices on CS ( not bad on S&M too) and CollectorKnives.com has good prices on S&M's.

My experiences of 2 of them has been different.Initially they looked good, full size trapper and a drop point hunter belt knife. The Trapper has pathetic snap, weak springs is an understatement. The belt knife does come with a good sheath-but a very loose fit so you could lose the knife. The tang and scales are not flush,it feels rough and this doesn't make you want to grip the knife at all. 2 out of 2 makes me wary of the brand in future but it could just be bad luck,as I say they look good-at a distance!
