Knife and Times Canal Street Cutlery to be Sold in Ellenville
One of the community's most famous products will finally be available to purchased, well, in the community. Canal Street Cutlery...will be opening up a holdiay shop...at 77 North Main St., starting Dec 1......

...Literally, right now you cannot walk into a store in the State of New York and buy one of these knives.....

When world renowned knife manufacturer Schrade closed up operations in Ellenville.....Wally Gardiner, took fourteen of the master cutlers who worked on the company's specialty knives and started Canal Street Cutllery-in the same building in which Schrade was originally housed....

In addition to selling CSC knives the shop will also offer knife accessories, compasses, orienteering equipment, sharpeners and polishers. Store hours are from 10a.m. to 7 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday, throughout the month of December.

As a resident of Ellenville and novice Schradeaholic I thought other members may be interested in this news. I know that I will be checking them out.

Thanks for the info Eyegor, Owner of a fair few CSC offerings, I think I'll have to check that store out! December is not too far away.

Got a little related info here. Took a ride out there last week, small space for now but it's really cool to see Canal Street's line-up in person. I'm REALLY liking their new 5" folding hunter! He's selling a nice amount of vintage Schrade stuff as well, along with some cheaper Rough Rider knives. Here's a pic of the ribbon cutting (the new sign is NICE )

Maybe it will take off and they will stay open. Maybe start a chain. It's nice to see a small company do good.

It is great to see the museum getting so close to being open and to see Canal Street doing well also.
