Momday I ordered from Newt Livsay 2 WA-1 sticks and a JVC oak cane. I received them today Friday.that good customer service.I forgot to ask Newt the best way to oil and sand this puppy. Can anyone help me out?
My first impression of the WA-1 sticks with their rubber handle so closely looking like a golf club handle hiding them in a golf bag makes sense. Also because it is white and Newt has written Show Stick on it these would make great gifts if you have a teacher in your life.Ateacher can keep these puppies in his/her classroom and use them daily as a pointer while teaching. These sticks can be kept on the chalk tray where one's pointer is kept. It's a shame that in today's world we have to think this way.
Bottom line dealing with Newt Livsay was a pleasure.

If you're into regular maintenance, try this method: http://www.canemasters.com/care.htm .

If not, give the thing a good sanding off the bat & stain it with a good quality stain which will seal it off from rain damage. A friend of mine runs a cane group (Perfect Weapon) on egroups, which has loads of info on this stuff--please check it out. The same guy also runs an Ezboard group: http://pub48.ezboard.com/bcaneknifestick , which also has useful stuff.

There's also a cane forum on KF ( http://www.knifeforums.com/cgi-bin/forumdispl ay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Cane/Stick/Knife+Forum&number=29&DaysPrune=100&LastLogin= ) with all kinds of useful info as well.

Enjoy!
