One last technical thing you need to do after purchasing a Gold membership:

1. Go to "Settings" (top right)
2. Go to "Permission" Groups (left margin halfway down page)
3. Then select "Identify me as a member of this group" in the Gold Member user group
4. Click "Update Display Group" (on the right)

Your best bet for posting pictures is to use a photo hosting site like imgur.com
