Hello all!

I just joined here a few days ago, and I was looking to pm a member to ask some questions about a purchase I want to make.

I cannot find the PM button on their profile, and when going to my pm area and clicking "Send new message" I get

LasagnaBurrito, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Certain Subforums are restricted to members with Paid Subscriptions.

Just curious what the reason is? Do I need more posts?

Thanks all :)

Welcome!

To have the ability to PM, you'll need at least a Basic Membership (the most basic Paid Subscription with fewest extra features).

There are other ways to contact other members. Most sellers (should) have their email enabled. Click on their username and there will be a send email tab.
If they don't have it enabled you can go to their profile page and leave a Visiters Message.

Sometimes people aren't aware and accidently have these features turned off. If that's the case, I would suggest politely posting in their thread your interest in the item and for them to contact you. If you go this route and leave your email in your post, make sure you edit it out after they have contacted you.

Hi thanks... That kind of sucks, but the visitor message should owrk.

Just asking some questions of the guy, no buying or selling from him, but looking for a sushi Knife to buy and he had a lot of info, and I'm very confused haha.

Thanks again for your help and time!

Gotcha!

I read "a purchase I want to make" and thought you meant from the individual, not in general.

A sushi knife you say? I know about as much about those as I do subatomic particles.
The beauty of this place is that it is very large and thorough when it comes to edge related topics and even beyond.
The link below is the Kitchen Cutlery forum. Browse around and you may find your question already answered. If not, and the gentleman doesn't happen to respond, go ahead and post a new thread. Lots of folks here willing to share their knowledge.
