I have recently started collecting Canoe style knives and would like to find some history about this particular style. Anyone have any ideas when the style emerged?

I to collect canoe style knives, mostly Case but also a couple of other brands that I have found. I looked in some referance books that I have and could find nothing, you might want to try Mr. Levines forum,I'm sure someone can help you there.
