My son has saved and decided to get some knives at SMKW, he is gonna get a couple Rough Ryder Peanut's and wanted me to asked which y'all prefer, the Rough Ryder Canoe or Slim Stockman? He likes to get two of each when he saves to get some and he can only get 4 knives right now so he has decided on the Peanut and either the stockman or Canoe. He says he will get a couple of the one y'all didn't choose next time and two of maybe another style, he is eyeing the small Trapper as well. Thanks for any help

If your son lives in the US and would like a Rough Ryder Barlow, I'd love to gift him with mine. (Just leave a message on my profile with your email address and I'll get in touch with you.) Pretty sure I still have the box, the knife is in nice shape, and it's a cracking Barlow. :)

3 3/4" square bolster stockman. Really like my yellow bone 'Don't Tread On Me' version.

I carry both a large (3 7/8 inch or larger) 3 blade stockman, and 3 5/8 inch canoe. That gives me a clip point, sheepsfoot/straight edge, a spey/budding, spear point, and pen blade for different tasks.
My (yellow) Carbon Plus series RR1736 Canoe, and RR1740 XL(4 1/4 inch closed) stockman. A great pairing. Not to heavy in the pocket, either.

I do have a bit of patina started on the blades. 👍
This week and next I'm carrying the canoe and the RR2040 Classic Carbon Barlow, though. I'm working on getting a patina on them without forcing it with a vinegar soak.
