Can anyone tell me if the canoe pattern has one backspring or two? I want to get a medium sized two blade pocketknife.

Thanks.

Some have one (Queen), some have two (Case). Older Case canoes have a single spring, but they are uncommon. Not sure about Boker, but I think they have two.

Newer ones have 2, older ones I've seen from the 70's have 1. I recently got a German Eye - Carl Schlieper - that has one spring. Pretty nice knife. The pen blade is very thin - some like that, others do not.

Funnily, the Canoe I seem to carry the most is a $15 Remington I just got. Not the best steel, but they just got the overall shape right on the money. Really good F&F too!

Let us know what you end up with!

Really? The Queens have one spring - didn't know that. I wish Queen had other types of bone besides the amber. I like D2.

Thanks for the help, I will let you know what I decide. A barlow is looking nice too.

Queens indeed make single back spring ones but I had tough luck in their Canoes gaps. German eye is very nice, also single back spring as someone said. Böker makes some Canoe models that have been single back springs, I don't know about current models.
