I have been able to post knife pics since the upgraded Gold Membership, but whenever I click on to edit my profile pic for avatar it says unable to denied permissions. Anyone have any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is try logging out, clear your browser history going back to when you upgraded, then log back in and try again.
Whatever device or computer you are using may just have a cookie stuck on the old setting before you upgraded, and just doesn’t recognize your upgrade.
The fix could be as simple as that.
