I've been on a knife-buying spree lately and got all kinds of good stuff - keepable stuff that I LIKE.

I JUST decided to stop with a Limited BM41 Balisong I just bought because I've got some customs on order that'll be finished this summer, I got a vacation coming up and want to pay down my credit cards a bit.

One problem!
I was just hanging out on a thread where people were talking about 9mm pistols and I was telling people longingly about this Beretta Elite I once had that was a dream to shoot and how I regretted selling it. Well, I started getting that feeling in my belly like you get when you think about a girl who once broke your heart, so I did a quick search on Guns America and FOUND ONE just like the one I used to have at $50 LESS than the DEAL I got last time I bought it.

So, now I'm sitting here thinking about selling some of the nice knives I've gotten recently that I was 100% HAPPY WITH KEEPING only 24 hours ago!

:( Crap.

I've got two guns I'm not attached to, but they're kinda low-end so I'd have to sell BOTH of them NOW to pay for the Beretta Elite.

What the hell is wrong with me? What am I doing? :(

Well, you must be excited about something because you posted this in the wrong forum. :p

Sell the two low end guns.

I try not to buy toys unless I'm very sure they are going to stay for quite a while, or that they're desirable and will hold their value.

I thought Community was a good spot, but whatever floats your boat. :)

Knife talk which turns to gun talk = Gadgets & Gear. ;)

yeah, but his title suggests W&C. :D

I definately understand the urge to upgrade your stuff, and one good pistol is better than 2 lower-grade ones.

I'm wondering what the reason was for selling your Beretta Elite, in the first place, if you're regretting it, so much, now. My next question is whether either of the "kinda low end" guns will also cause you 'seller's remorse,' after you sell them to replace your Beretta Elite?

It's tough to properly prioritize one's purchases, if one doesn't absolutely *have* to.

Well, fortunately the Beretta I had my eye on has been sold, so I think my delimma has been solved for me. ;)

Knives, guns...Been there, done THAT. Whatever you do, DON'T get into watches!...I fell into that jungle a couple months ago, and now I think I need ANOTHER 12-step program....

Read the thread about whistles. Whistles are cheap -- especially compared to Swiss watches....

It could be like an inoculation. Get a little bit sick with a practically harmless little disease, and that will make you immune to the Black Death.

Over-spending and overbuying is an addiction. It is very tough to break away from. You have to figure out why you are doing it, and go from there. There's a lot of self-help books out there, and plenty of resources on the internet. BTW, it's obvious you've been doing a lot of buying by the amont of knives you've been selling. It might be a problem for you. One thing I've done is to divert more of my paycheck into my 401k so I don't have so much excess money, and I now also spend some time researching various mutual funds, etc. That also helps take up time, and definately helps curb spending.

That's pretty heavy. I need to find a better way to entertain myself - or a job that keeps me busier. ;)
