I know, it probably sounds stupid, but I can't decide between the two. They have the exact same blade length, and they both have good steels. Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Jeff

Well, I tell you what. Buy both, and send them to me. I'll take a few weeks and decide which one is better, and then I'll send it back to you (the better one, wink wink).

Seriously, you're talking a huge difference in price. A Calypso Jr is what, $40? Even a used Sebenza will run you over $250. You might consider buying the Calypso and trying it out. If you don't like it, it's not a huge loss (or you could just sell it).

Jefroman, you only live once, just buy both. It isn't that big a deal to go ahead and buy the Calypso Jr. if you have already bought the Sebenza. You will have two great knives, and they can each serve special functions. It is just a confidence builder when you have two knives on you, makes you feel like you are ready for anything. Plus, you can take that Calypso and wear it on your Polo shirt and have the Sebenza in your pocket if you don't want to have both in a pocket. Just an opinion.

You were right, Jefroman.

If you can afford it, the Sebenza is the better knife. The Calypso Jr is a great blade for the price point. Better buy both.:)

Believe it or not, the Calypso is a better cutter, due to the thin flat grind. Just not nearly as heavy duty.

Get the Calypso Jr. I've carried mine for a year now and have it with me nearly every day. It is an excellent knife, especially considering the price.

Get six Calypso Jrs. for the same price and give them away to your buddies when they're not shaving sharp anymore.

I think if I had it to do over, I'd buy a custom for the price (or close) of the Sebenza.

Sebenza's are pretty darned good. And if I'd have just stopped there I'm sure I'd be happy with it.

As it is, since I've bought a few customs I don't look at the Sebenza the same way.
