I have called all over Sacramento looking for a few feet of the s**t for my KMG! Can some one please tell me where online I can order the right kind from? It is literally ALL I need to set up my grinder! FML :barf:

Sounds on the light side to me. Try 14 or even 12 gauge. You need 4 conductor?? I assume you have 220v now is it for a 1ph or 3ph motor? If you answer these questions I might be able to find you some.

Try Platt electric. They have both 16/4 and 14/4 in stock in your area. Ask for 16/4 SO cord. THey show it at .99/ft and the 14/4 at 1.45/ft. Open from 7-12 tomorrow.

Ya, I tried them. they have it but you have to buy 250 ft of it. I have a 1.5 hp 3 phase motor. thanks

Brent, I remember now it is called SO cable or SO cord at the electrical shops in my area. Did you try Graybar? If you have a problem I will buy you a chunk this week and ship it to you to. Trust me , You need 16 gauge 4 wire between the drive and motor...some guys will tell you to use 14 or 12 gauge but the motor wires are a smaller gauge and 16 will do fine. If you don't believe me or my electrician neighbor (30 years experience with AC Electric) then send an e-mail to Rob Frink at Beaumont and he will tell you the same thing. Call me if you want me to get the wire but it will delay you a week. I actually bought a piece of 4 wire 16 gauge from Orchard Supply in Bakersfield. Heck, call an electrician in North Sacto and ask him where to get it...he might even take pity on you and give you a piece of wire off his truck. Good luck !! Larry

It's easier to find if you call it Cabtire, or SO wire instead of cable

My local home depot has it in the cut to length selection

Greybar is also a good supplier

16 gauge is good, 14 and 12 are too large to fit inside glands and space gets tight inside the box making bends and such

Oh no I know that I need the 16/4. You have been with me right from the start on this setup. Plus you are right that is exactly what bob frink suggested too. Dude I looked everywhere for this. Just ordered a piece from the place phydeaux suggested so Im all set! Thanks all.

Yeah the 16/4 will work for the 3ph. Bit light for 1ph though. I have had Platt cut wire before. I also found it at Home Depot. They cut it like the count mentioned.
