Can't find a combo gun then you should check these out.
I have used this type of device before with pretty good results. The department I work for Uses a 38 spec. / 12 ga. converter for shotgun training. no reciol, less noise and cheap to shoot.
We use then in Remington 870's with fairly good results. The shotgun converters are rifled. You don't get the tight groops from the 870's because the insert/inserts don't go into the chamber the same way every time but in a single shot shotgun you can mark the insert and put it in the chamber the same way each time and get better groops.
With the rifle inserts it doesn't matter because the insert is not rifled and the bullet uses the rifleing of whatever gun you are shooting.
I don't know if this is the same brand that my department uses and I am sure there are other makers. I have seen them made from alumium and steel. The steel inserts are a little hard on the ejectors on pump actions because they are hard and heavy the alumium arn't but either way I wouldn't be racking the action that hard. you don't want to loose or damage the insert when it hits the ground. In single shot you don't have that problem.

Sorry I forgot to give the Co. name
MCA Sports/Ace bullet company

They make many different adapters to convert shotgun to pistol and rifle cal. andto shoot pistol cal. 32 acp, 30 carbine ect in your 308 or 30-06
