$10 a year for the Basic Membership. You get an avatar, a signature line, PMs (although very limited w/ 5), attachments (like pics from your computer), and you can post a trade thread in the Trade Forums.
With Gold ($30), you get 100 PMs, can sell in the Individual section, plus a bigger avatar.
You could go big and get a Platinum Membership. Although sometimes mutate into an Adamantium Membership or something else entirely, so be careful. I can't even tell what is included with it.

That raises a few more questions:
1) Can signatures contain images (aside from emotes or ascii); If so What are the image file/format/size restrictions; And (again if so allowed) are they hosted through the forums (as in you upload them) or linked from an external image hosting service?
2) Are Avatars hosted through the forums or linked, and what are the restrictions on those?
3) Are the Number of PM's a hard cap per year (only that many total) or is it a soft cap (does it just raise the number of saved exchanges you can have before your inbox/outbox is full, necessitating deleting some older ones)?
4) Are there any additional fees on listing a buy/sell order?
5) Is there a cap on number of attachments; If so does this go up with higher levels of membership?

1 - Yes, you can have images. NO porn, nudity, advertising for profit websites (like retail stores that don't support Bladeforums directly), excessive gore, etc is not allowed. As far as size, we don't allow giant billboards, they look like crap and are unsightly. Just be reasonable, there is no set in stone size limit, but if the images are too big, we will let you know.
2 - I'm not 100% certain, but it can possibly be both. The information on size limits are located in the "Paid Subscription" link provided above.
3 - The number of PMs will vary. You can archive or delete them and start fresh with however many your membership allows. You can also keep a record of what you send, so that counts as 2 PMs.

Basic and registered users are not allowed to sell anything, but they can buy whatever they want or can afford. Details in the Exchange rules, required reading for any activity there.
