So I can take apart and reassemble all of my sebbies back with no problem. Except for the 25.....

Any hints, I am getting blade rub on the non locking scale?

Thanks!

This sounds like a job for Cody!! Wish I could help but I just look at um..:(

Well....I wish I could help in some way. Off the top of my head the only thing I can think of that might cause some deflection is if you have some build-up of Loctite in the portion of the slab where the pivot goes through. I don't see how you could have a pinched washer on a 25, so there must be some other mis-alignment. The only other think I can think of is to rotate the pivot screw. Maybe yours has a "sweet spot" or something.

I assemble my 25 "sandwich slyle". In other words I build it up from the locking slab side, and do not use the "slide-in-the-blade" technique that is handy on the 21. You might also have one of the stand-off screws cross threaded?

Let us know what the fix is! Very best of luck!

I agree with Cody, the 25 is normally easy to take apart and reassemble compared to the 21. Like Cody said, try taking it back apart, clean everything and put it back together. Once you get it working right you can always take it back apart to lube it.

Even though I've not taken mine apart yet, it appears that the washer on the lock side has a specific position. When the knife is closed, you should be able to see the tab on the washer in the cut out portion of the blade for the lock bar.

Thanks all, I thought I would try and put it back like a regular sebenza, so I will try the sandwich style! Dropped it in a fire scene, and it was nasty!

Travis, I will let you know, I have taken apart my sebbies a hundred times, so this is the first head scratcher for me.

Cody and Cowboy, thanks for your help too. Will keep you posted.

don't the washers have a tab that holds it in place that has to fit in a slot milled in the handle? Double check your washer positions.

Does tightening the pivot pull it back in to the centre at all ?

I've taken mine apart a few times. I use the sandwich mehtod as well. Any chance a little grit got on the washers or slabs before reassembly? Perhaps you flipped the small washer? I also polished all my sebenza washers on the blade sides and that smoothed them out as well.
Good luck.

This happened to me, I took it apart, flipped the washer, reassembled, it was back to dead center.

Thanks for all of the info guys. I am going to try again later today. It was a bit frustrating to say the least. In the mean time, I took apart my edc large insingo, cleaned and lubed, put back together in about 20 minutes and back together, centered and smooth as glass.

I just need to get used to the 25.

Barry, thanks for all your help, much appreciated.

Got the knife back together, and it is close to centered again, not as close as it was before I took it apart. I found some gouges inside the pivot hole of the blade, not sure how they got there, or when. I am going to send it back to CRK.

I love CRK knives, currently own 9, and been using them since 1992. I am sure she will be back to normal after a trip to the mothership.

Thanks again for everyones help.

Maybe you know this, but there are four grooves machined into the sides of the pivot hole. They are intended to hold grease just like the holes in the washers. Just thought these might be the 'gouges' you are referring to.
