Can't get the right size clip screws

Several months ago in October for my birthday I got myself an uptern. Bought it new from Amazon. One of the clip screws was kind of in at a screwed up angle. Not a deal breaker but anyway I wound up losing a screw so I still have two of the original. Several weeks ago I called Spyderco and requested a new set of clip screws and they were nice enough to send me a new set. The new set was too small they would not thread into the holes in the knife any of them. Like I said I still have two of the original screws and those still screw in just fine I'm positive there's nothing wrong with the knife. Anyway I called them and they said that they would send the correct screws which I got today but they are also still too small. I'm a bit frustrated. I don't have multiple knives like I used to I've been homeless off and on for many years I take really good care of the knife I do have. What do I need to do to get the correct screws?

Send it in to Spyderco. If it came from Amazon, there is a chance that it is fake, which would explain why the clip screws they sent don't fit.

Same, send it to Spyderco. The knives see small changes over time. When they have it someone there will be able to sort through the bins of screws to find a match. I had to do that with an Ayoob that I lost a clip screw from.

And if it is a fake they'll be able to tell you that too.

Look its not fake. I am not sending it to them for screws. No reason they shouldn't be able to send the correct ones. I use it daily and I don't have a stable address to have it returned to. I've been carrying a spyderco knife for 30 years. This is now my only knife.

Was already stated above about small changes over time to parts/screws! Easy fix if you don’t want to send in to Golden. Measure the length(also compare thread pitch) and take picture of both side by side, emailing to Charlynn! Good luck

Hey Dano,

Call customer service and speak with Charlynn. I'll alert her to this thread. She can probably get you sorted.

She's who got my knife fixed. The screws had to be cut down to work since it was an out of production model. Everyone involved there went way more than the extra mile to get me sorted.

What knife is it ? A fluted Native ? They do fake them .... one of the tell tales is use of metric instead of imperial screws.

Anyways, send it in, you shall see.

Or just use the clip with 2 screws, leaving the middle hole open? Many knife clips are only drilled for 2 holes and last time I checked they all still worked fine.

How do you expect them to send you screws if you can't have an address?
How did they already send you two sets of screws if you don't have an address?

Lol. I get your point. My life is a bit of a roller coaster I'm not been able to maintain a stable address recently but anyway they did finally get me the right screws sent they tried them on an uptern that they had and turned out they were sending the wrong ones so today I got the right ones.
