I have to post this as a new thread because I don't think many will see it at the end of the other one. Sorry, just couldn't help it. This is a testimonial for the kind of nice folks you run across here on BF. I recently ran a contest to give away a knife and the winner was nybble. Following is the email I received from him:

Now, is that nice or what! This is exactly why I wanted to give something back to the forum...nice folks!
 
Talk about a class act! I mean heck, he could've accepted it then sold it. But to pass it on to another BFC member, now that's just plain nice.

Yea, that's something allright. I consider myself a fairly nice guy, and people tell me that I am too nice sometimes, but I'm not sure I would have given that knife away.
 
Thanks for the kind words. I was thinking about it a *lot* and I thought I could get it and then play with it a little but ultimately trade it. But then I started feeling a little bad, because here we have a maker going through all the hard work of making this great blade and then *giving* it away and then I'm going to turn around and profit from it? So I figured, better to keep in the spirit of the giving and hope it ends up with someone who can really use it. :)

Oh, and I don't want to forget - big thanks to Tham for making and giving the knife away in the first place and giving me the chance to win!!
