can't PM people?

Wanted to PM someone in the classifieds and couldn't find it. Clicked on the private message link and tried to "send new message" and says I'm not able to? Any help would be nice.

You need to increase your membership level to access the PM function.

Will I be able to buy items in the classifieds with the basic membership? Or do I need gold membership. Not planning on selling stuff as I'm just getting into this hobby and don't have stuff to sell.

You don't need a membership to buy.
Did you try to email the person you were trying to contact? Sellers SHOULD have that feature active. <cough>so should prospective buyers<coiugh>

If they don't have email enabled, you can go to their profile and leave a Visitor's Message.
