Okay.....I know everyone gets tired of the "I JUST GOT MY AUTO MANGLER
XYZ AND IT'S REALLY COOL!" posts but.......

I JUST GOT MY BUCK STRIDER AND IT'S REALLY COOL!!! *L*

what a chunk of steel! awesome design, fit, finish, and quality! VERY confidence inspiring! I have a tendency to buy, sell and trade everything around me that aint tied down, (my wife considers herself lucky for not being traded off yet) but every once in awhile I get one that does NOT go away....of course there is nothing that I view as a perfect knife, but there are knives that I immediately fall in love with because I know they can be trusted, come hell or high water, and my Buck Strider is DEFINITELY one of them! All I can say is I'm thrilled to have assimilated this one into my collection, and job well done!

Running along to find lotsa things to slice, dice and chop....

Hey, great review! I am glad that you like the knife. I heard they work great for filleting tanks. I happen to have an excellent recipe for tank if you are interested.:D

Take care,

Glad to hear it Runs With Scissors. I received my first Buck Strider last Monday the 26th. Was your initial reaction like mine, "Dear God Almighty!"? I can't believe how thick that sucker is.

A side question: How well does the Sharpmaker work on this thick bevel? I have the large tanto version, if it makes a difference.

heya wire edge, first thing when I got it out of the box all I could do was grin from ear to ear and wonder where that knife had been all my life. I was very impressed with the thickness of the whole thing, and I've got no gripes about it being to pocket heavy as an EDC. I'll admit I was a little skeptical about the thicker, duller tip, until the first evening I owned it, I found out that it serves well as an "emergency bottle opener" and also found out it works pretty efficiently for opening frozen gas caps, and car trunks as well.

As far as filleting tanks....I'll keep it as a back up to my "saws all" *l*

As far as the Sharpmaker..and my own personal input....I'll have an answer by tonight, haven't sharpened it yet, and it's just now lost it's shaving edge.

hope y'all have a good one!
