Can't see attachments

Hi. I can't see, click on, open, etc. pictures that people attach to posts.
It says "Attached thumbnails" but has an empty box.

What setting do I have wrong on my computer?
I'm using Firefox on a Thinkpad with Windows XP.

Any ideas?

It's a little different now but you're the first to complain you can't see it, and I know a lot of members use Firefox. Have you updated Firefox lately?
 
I use Firefox and have no problems. Please point out the thread in question so we can attempt to duplicate.
 
It's any thread in the Exchange with a paperclip next to it. I've got Firefox set up to auto update, and I got one recently, so I don't think that's it.

You mind being a bit more specific? Pick a thread. Any thread. Do you have javascript enabled?

I've attached a screen capture of what I see in that thread.

I checked and I do have Javascript enabled.

P.S. I can't see or click on my own attachment on this thread. I get the same empty box.

Do you use tabbed browsing, if so, make sure that new links open in new tab.
Other than that, I have no idea. Lot of computer geeks hang out in the gadgets and gear forum, perhaps a mod will move it there.

HM. I have that attachment's thumbnail showing up here. Do you see the attachment in this thread?

Do you have BFC set to allow popup windows?

I'm seeing the thumbnails and the lightbox when you hover over them.
 
I'm using SeaMonkey 1.1.7, and they open OK for me...

...But there is a very odd black screen which appears while the pic is loading...(I'm on a dial-up; you lucky Yankee boys with broadbeam probably don't notice it)... :D

Today I get this. (See attachment.) Which is an improvement. If I click on it, it'll open up on a new window, so I guess popup windows are on.

So for some reason you aren't seeing thumbnails. Pretty weird. Go to my profile and check out the photo albums - do you see the thumbnail images there?

What firewall or ad-blocker do you use?

Some block viewing java/php pictures without a direct link because they think they are some form of advertisements.

Maybe you can temporarily shut down the "ad-blocking" feature of your firewall(or anti-virus) and see if it solves anything.
 
So you see the thumbnails in the gallery, but not in the attachments. Interesting.

Then I think we have found your problem.
Open Zone Alarm. Then Click on "Privacy" in the menu on the left.
You will see a slider in the middle that says "Ad Blocking". I think yours will be set on top on the "High" setting.
Slide it to "Off". (I think the medium setting will be enough to solve it, but I'm not sure)
When you see no slider, you have to click on "Custom" first and "reset to default" second.

Now close ZoneAlarm and check if the problem is solved.

If it is, you can tweak the ad-blocking menu a bit so it will still be blocking pop-ups, but leave Bladeforums alone. There is also another way of solving this but it's a bit more difficult to explain.
