Can't "take it to PM" - I don't have the ability to PM or answer Mod PMs

Is that normal? I used to be able to PM. Esav suggested I PM someone and can't.

I thought I used to be able to as a basic member as well, but this came up a few weeks ago and a mod said it had been that way for a long time.

Yes. Asking for contact through PM only works if you are a paying member and have paid to have private messages. Other options would be to email them. This only works if the member has email enabled in their profile. When you click on a members name you will see the options for contacting said member. If they have email enabled, you can email them. I find this is a problem when dealing in the exchange. Someone says "email me" but they don't leave an email and they don't have email enabled.

I've seen email problems even with both members enabled. vBulletin glitch. I will put an email address back in my sig line. Email me & I will hook you up with whoever you need to contact.

Edit to add: you may be able to send a Visitor Message to ask them to enable their email.

Edit to add: it looks like I got that email link up. Interrupted twice while I was trying.
