Can't upload pics?

I'm trying to "Upload a File" (a pic) from my phone and keep getting a file too large error. The pic is smaller than what I've uploaded in the past at about 550kb so I'm wondering if there's another issue?

I’m having similar issue. I use to be able to take a pic with iPhone then screen shot that pic. I could then upload the screenshot pic. Now it doesn’t work. If I take a pic with a plain solid background. Like a place a knife on white board snap pic, screenshot, it will upload.
So like op asks, did something change ?

Use a third part sire for pictures that are too large. Like Imgur for instance.
