i should have some money this week after paying bills and taking care of my responsibilities (which is rare that i ever have money lol). After doing a lot of research i've decided to pick up the Becker BK2, based on shear blade thickness and material alone i think this knife should be nearly indestructible for mostly every and all my woodcraft/bushcrafting needs (not that im a huge survivalist, but if i ever had to be one i think this is the knife i would want on me). i'll probably pick up a tek lok as well because the sheath (while it looks nice) has this huge nylon belt loop that from the looks of it....has to go (look at me criticizing a product i dont own yet :P). im also going to be picking up a Becker Necker/TDI belt clip for my edc :D so needless to say IM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!

I am not trying to talk you out of it, but I would think hard about what you really want to do with the knife before you buy a BK2. I have a 2 and it is an awesome piece of steel. I bought it sight unseen after just looking at a few pics online. It is bigger and heavier in person than you think. I like mine and will keep it because it is a neat collector piece, but I don't think I will use it much. It is too heavy to carry long distance, blade is too short to be an ideal chopper or batoning knife, blade geometry and heft makes it awkward for fine work. Cool knife, but for what I want in a knife it isn't as useful as I thought it would be. I don't have anything negative to say about Becker knives, but just make sure you get one that will meet your needs. If you want a big chopper/batoning knife get a BK9, if you want a small knife for detail work get the necker or just a cheap mora, if you want something in the in-between range get a BK16 or Kabar Mark I.

If you decide to go with the BK2 enjoy it and use the heck out of it. The thing is a beast. Good luck whatever you decide. Can't beat buying a new knife.

I like the BK2, but don't use it very much, it's too thick and heavy for EDC....it is an interesting knife though, more like a hatchet that fits in your pocket. Not very slicey though. If I HAD to have one knife though, it would probably be the BK2 just because of the shear amount of abuse it could take, and just laugh and ask for more please.

thnx for the feedback guys! i actually ended up going with the 11 for edc and the 2 for camping and outdoorsy stuff. C_Tanner lol i would love a 9 but alas i spent all my 4 fun funds on the 2 and the 11. the 7 or the 9 will most likely be my next purchase.
