Anyone else notice a difference in there canvas micarta, knife to knife. My JUNGLE GREEN/TAN machined NMSFNO has a less fuzzy, hard, smoother feel on the smooth parts. It absorbed min. oil, and silicone well, and is lasting well. It almost has a plasticy smooth G-10 feel on the smooth contours. My SAGE/TAN machined NMSFNO scales are fuzzier, warmer, and dryer to the touch. It absorbs oils, silicone, etc. well, but seems to dry out much more quickly, and has more of a warmer feel, matte texture finish than the other. This does not show up in photos. It's like a slightly different material. Could one be linen micarta? Same deal on my ASH 1 LE's. One is dryer and mattier, (is that a word ), than the other. It's weird.
I want to make it clear that "I AM NOT COMPLAINING HERE". I love my Busse's. I like each in their own special Busse-ness. The fuzzier dryer ones, for some reason, don't absorb hand oils as well either, stay more matte finished, and actually feel more secure and less slippery, in the hand.
I love these NMSFNO's so much I'm considering another before they disappear.
Anyway, it's interesting, and if any of you notice this on your BEAUTIES, give me a heads up.

i think it might have something to do with how the micarta is laid up and which way the first or last layers are going and how the cutters cut. or maybe cutters wear out a little bit and you get a fuzzier cut or finish.

i'll ask tony as he's laid more stuff around here than most, brb

Thanks for the response Skunk man. Being basically a factory produced product, with a helping of hand work, grinding and finishing, each B-baby has a feel of it's own. All of mine have variances in Infi width, blade width, edge geometry, tip grinds, and handle surface feel, etc.. I love em all.

It sounds like you may have fallen victim to an elaborate micarta-forgery. You should send me all the knives that feel different, as those are probably fakes, for verification.

Forged Micarta? What an idea! Was just laid off work after 12 years. This could be the income suppliment, to my weekly unemployment compensation, I've been lookin for. VoxHog, you're a GENIUS!

I truly love the folks on this forum, AND ALL my Busse's.

What I found interesting were the linen micarta scales on the SARQ. The cuts were very smooth but the contours were rough. It went from a gray to an almost jet black color.
