Canvas vs Paper

Going to order a new knife from Busse and was wondering if anyone happens to have two like Busse's with the same color handles but one in paper and one in canvas. If so could you post pics and maybe describe which you like better either do to texture or looks? Also which handle type is the more durable?

I like canvas for a user. When its wet it grips your hand. The black paper almost looks plastic.
 
Of the two TGLBs standing on their points, the one on the left is Black Paper on Tanker, the one on the right is Black Canvas on Comp Finish.

 
I find canvas would be better for use and paper better for looks.

Canvas will be tougher, but the Paper is still very tough.
I like a Canvas Micarta on my Customs(polished more than Busse Canvas), but I like prefer Busse Black Paper over their Black canvas on satin bladed knives(which is all I have). Their Grey(black) does look great on double cut, a stripped finish, and some of the coated blades.
 
Top to bottom: Black Canvas, Green Linen, Black Paper, Black Canvas



I personally prefer the paper to any other micarta. Although it is "slicker" than canvas, it still provides excellent grip when wet.

While we're on the subject. Is one as tough/ durable as the other? I was under the impression that canvas was more resistant to impacts....
 
Like others have said - canvas for a user, paper for a show piece or non hard-use knife. Canvas tends to soak up sweat and dyes easily so beware. I once had a canvas micarta handled knife that I spilled some leather dye on. I couldn't get it out - even with sanding. So the whole handle got the treatment. If I spilled the same dye on paper micarta, it wouldn't have even been an issue.
 
Don't shy away from paper micarta or G10 for a user though if you like the color of them. I agree that canvas micarta gives a better grip, but paper micarta will still make a fine user.
 
I like the look and feel of the black canvas better. I sent in this SARGE7 to have the black paper handles changed out for black canvas. Much happier :)



 
I have black paper on a couple users and like it just fine. It feels like a warm G10. It's just as grabby and I like it better than canvas. It's all about preference.
 
I like Black Paper, but it is very slick. The Canvas material is a better fit for a user, in my opinion. It has a better grip and it doesn't show dings as well as paper.
