hi guys,
i'm preparing for a small camping tour and dont know which tool/knifeset i should get.
for foodpreperation i get a victorinox 105 mm solo, for playing around campsite i get a victorinox lumberjack,84mm vic with blade, combotool and saw.
and what should it be as a generalpurpse tool/toolbox?(it should have got canopener, caplifter, corkscrew, perhaps scissors)
at first i thought about a vic explorer or climber.
but now i think to myself ,if there could be situations where i could need a pair of pleiers.
so what do you take to your camping trips, when you go with women(with some need of comfort, not a "only essentials"-survivaltrip)
a leatherman like multitool or a swiss army knife?

Yes, look into the Victorinox Swisstool. I like the Swisstool X. A lot here like the Spirit. It's like a leatherman, only with Victorinox build quality.

I love SAKs, and have several, but I also recently got a LM Wave, which has pliers. I'm impressed with the Wave, I have to say; I bought it on impulse but have to say it's pretty handy, and robust and well designed. It also happens to weigh a ton, something like 8 or 9 ounces. If weight isn't an issue, I'd recommend it. If it is, I don't recommend it.

I think that a Vic Outrider and a pair of ordinary pillers should be more than enougf in your case :)

if it should be a SAK,it should be 91mm with cellidor scales, because i would use the allrounder, besides the campsite as a Everyday knife in my daybag.so 111mm knives are not the right.for this reasons the weight is important for me.

There's a number of 91mm SAKs that have a pliers. Now, it won't be as good a pliers as on a leatherman or a swisstool, but they work. The problem with pliers is it's usually one of the last tools they include, which means you get a lot of tools you might not want, and a lot of weight.

Check out any of these:

Deluxe Tinker

the qeustions is,if there are situations, where you really need plierers, when your camping?

I wolud love to have pillers if I am fishing, repairing something,or just to remove something hot from the fire .They're very usefull tool! :)
