Mailman came this morning with the grippers - amazingly quick delivery (Kurt posted them on friday). I was just about to go out to work so I took them with me and immediately started playing with them. I managed to do 15 reps with my right hand and 12 with my left (complete closures) I thought I would be able to do more but it's hard to imagine how much difference there is between the COC's and standard grippers - I can do 89 reps in my right hand and 82 with my left in 30 seconds (each Hand)I can hold the standard grippers shut for about 4 and a half minutes with each hand - probably longer but I beat the office record... anyway back to the COC's

Of my mates at work only one guy wasn't able to close it and of the girls only one was. I think I would just manage a #1 but I am ordering some so I will see. Very impressed but I have knacked my left hand.. I think an old rugby injury has flared up from over using the grippers today (can't even close a stapler now). I'll keep going with my right and see if I can beat Kurt's record.. not going to be easy.. and I guess I can kiss that little knife goodbye !!

I can see this as being very addictive and I think Kurt has spawned a new virus !!

:D JK, glad you like it Brendan. I haven't run into a female who can close it yet, that's pretty impressive. They are fun to take to work, aren't they? Guys always get the funniest looks on their faces when they try to close one for the first time.
 
I see Brendan noticed the disparity between hands that these grippers make known. Don't know if the left(I'm right-handed) will catch up or not. Anyway I think that some of the females I knew in the Air Force could close the #1. Some were pretty strong. That was back in the days when alot of the guys were doing steriods pretty regular and it wasn't uncommon to see some massive people. Didn't do them myself, just worked hard and lifted alot of heavy stuff. Was an electronics tech and the equipment we had was generally heavy. Could carry one of the transmitters that weighed 225lbs. in each hand across the shop!
 
Right - did 25 with my right hand in 30 seconds, had to adjust my grip about 3 times though - we are having a heat wave in the UK and it's been making my hands sweat something bad !!

My left hand is still knacked but I hope to do about 25 with it before tuesday and hope to get about 35 with my right - no match for Kurt but not bad in a week, my grippers should have arrived by then !!

I'm on a mission now to get really strong !!

Good start Brendan! There is a noticeable difference between the different levels of COC's. Addictive!:D
 
Brendan, if you have access to billiards chalk, it might help to keep it from slipping. That's one of the things I read on the GripBoard. Also, I'd imagine the handles are getting a bit dirty by now, I found that that made them slip a bit easier because the knurling was filled up. You can clean them real easy with a toothbrush and water, that may help too. Good luck and keep squeezing. :)
