The light above my rear license plate rusted off its bracket on my car. It's a 99 Honda Accord. I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution I could use to fix this myself. Here's a photo of the light.

JB Weld. You can stick any metal parts back together with that stuff.

A close second place would be some of the Devcon products like Liquid Steel or Liquid Aluminum.

a few self taping screws-find a solid piece near the plate and go at it-2 minutes your done

Duct Tape!!!

It is only 8 years old, so take it back and complain!

Epoxy putty, or 'No More Nails', both set like rock.

get two nice new bolts for the light assembly and use wall anchors (toggle bolts) as receivers. The toggle bolts will work as nuts and will hold onto the area outside of the rusted hole.

Someone needs to call Japan and tell them that body parts rusting off after 8 years isn't too cool.

Clothes hanger wire.
It's hard to find the good stuff anymore tho'
nowadays it's all that thin stuff.

Hey Guys...

Cut it off, and wire it up to a light up license plate cover...

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm gonna take a closer look at it in the morning and see if it looks like there's enough left to epoxy or nail it back, something along those lines. If not, I might try what you just suggested Normark.

I'm just as baffled myself as to why it rusted off, being so new.
