Just picked up a Cara Cara 2 and overall I'm pretty impressed for the price, however, both sides of the blade are wavy. The edge grind is straight, but the secondary bevel has obvious ups and downs. It seemed to look like that in the reviews and pics online, but nobody ever seemed to mention it, so I though maybe I was imagining it. I'm definitely not imagining it on the blade in my hand though. Did I get a dud, or is this par for the course for this budget blade?

I got one used and it is the same way.. I did put my edge on it and feel in time all will be well.. John

Nah, it won't. The waves are through the entire side of the blade. As I sharpen it, they will actually work their way into the edge. Right now the edge is fine.

I first saw that effect on my Resilience, easy to see on that big blade, then on my Cara Cara G10 so next I studied one of my Tenacious and can see it on there too but to a lesser extent. I might care if they were $100 knives.

Sorry eqlzr, I tried to get it in some pics and I couldn't capture what I'm seeing with my eyes. It's not over the top - but definitely visible in a few areas along the blade. None of that present on any of my other knives, but the only other Spyderco I have is a Manix 2. I didn't realize the Tenacious line was also susceptible to this - ironically I was debating between the two knives and when I saw this I thought to myself, "I knew I should have bought the Tenacious!" I guess not, lol!!
