This is a new design for design for me. It is my interpretation of some of the gorgeous traditional swayback folders that I have been seeing lately.
The handle scales are natural canvas micarta w/ toxic green liners. It looks kind of like a caramel apple to me!
The Oal is 8" and the blade from tip to handle is 4" of acid etched L6.
Let me know what you think! All feedback is welcome.

Ben you have refined your style with this one. You other knives that I have seen are no nonsense work knives, this one is very graceful and nice color choice.

Thanks for the kind words!

That looks really handy. Style + Function = Impressive.

I'd actually like this with a 3" blade, giving me a lot of control, over blade length. That's me.

Keep 'em coming!

COop

Nice curves...sexy! Looks like it'd make a good cheese slicer. In fact, it'd be a good utility whether at the kitchen counter or crafts table. In this regard, I hear Coop's thoughts about a slightly shorter blade.

How do you like how those thick liners worked out?

Very nice. I'm with Coop on this one. When I saw it in the hand my first thought was to make it smaller.
It looks a very comfortable and useful design and I like the blade treatment with the micarta colour.

Coop - I will probably do a smaller version as well, maybe a little 3 finger guy. I hadn't seen a full size swayback fixed blade, so that is why I went a little bigger.

Stuart - This is the first knife I have tried that blade treatment on, it was pretty simple and gives a nice uniform look

Phil - are you talking about the overall handle thickness or just the liners?

Thanks all for the kind words!

I was referring to the thickness of the liners. To my eye they seem a little thick. Maybe it's the color though, but I'm way over here and can't really tell. So, I was wondering how you thought they worked out.

I like it all. Great color on that micarta, and the thick green liners look great to my eye too.

Very nice knife. I can see that being used in the kitchen, and in the garden.

While I'm not a big fan of micarta, this natural micarta stuff is looking quite nice.

If it was for me, I'd prefer wood, or stag handles. Like Coop says, a shorter version would be very nice too!

Kind regards,

Jos

Phil - I really like how they came out, but probably would have looked good thinner also. They are .060" I believe.

I have one more this size that I am still trying to decide on handles for, maybe some curly Koa.

Sweet, Ben! I really like the handle combo, your name for it fits perfectly:thumbup:

Great work as always buddy.

Thanks Jonny! I just came into about 24 sq ft' of this micarta, so I am looking for some creative combos with it. :D
