carbide cutters

Hello All,

I've seen solid carbide cutters used for metal removal with bearings mounted on the end for a guide. These are used for precise making of parts following a pattern. They work just like a laminate trimmer for a router. I've even seen them with smaller bearings to use to "shadow box" the handles of knives.

My question is this. Where can I get these cutters? I've never been able to find them.

Thanks in advance

pattern makers burrs.....I dont know if they come with bearings like router bits....but you can get them with reduced shanks and get bearings to match up really easily....look at the MSC, Travers, and Rutland Tool catalogs (probably Jet too) in the section that has carbide burrs.. there are probably a number of carbide burrs that would work too. just have to match up the shanks and cutter diameter with a bearing that matches. shouldnt be a problem as they make bearings in many many sizes .
