Thanks for checking them out! DFK Carbide Edge Friction Folders!

I added a tip down carry clip to these, the blade sits next to the pocket edge so they carry very well.

Look out for these in my store later today. www.fairlyknives.com They will run $250 shipped.

Mega tough, ultralight and sharp with a 72 RC carbide edge.

.160" Carbidized Titanium Blade

.100" Titanium Frames

- Single Bevel Right Hand Grind

- Heat Colored Hardware

- Stonewashed Finish

- 72 RC Carbide Edge

- Ultra Light ~60 Grams or just over 2 ounces

~ 6.8" long
~ 2.9" blade

Everything is Titanium besides the hardware which is heat colored stainless steel, I used self lubricating Nylatron washers. Non-sharpened swedge.

Another fantastic batch, Daniel. snatch these up guys. I can attest; the way he does these Ti blades is phenominal. My Backpacker slices through everything!

Hey, why isn't that third knife opened? :P

Sharper then I look. (GET IT?!?!)

Sorry I'm snowed in and it's taking its toll. Soon I'm going to turn into Jack Torrance.

I actually really like your take on the wharnie/sheepsfoot shape.

A while back.. I bought some of those Ti little knives you were making one offs of?? The first was a red one with wharnie style blade.. It is REALLY useful. Pointy enough, yet the point is strong, and the belly of the blade help with cuts..

On that note.. I need one soon.. I don't even have your (what appears to be) best seller - the backpacker!

Keep it up. AND, when you make these frikkies into a framelock or liner lock, I'm there. Love the over all shape/size.

Sorry to double post so quickly..

Was just noticing that the pivot screws were put in differently? At first I though, lefty setup.. but the clip side is the same and tip up and edge out still..

So did you just decide wth, some will be "this way" and some will be "that way"?

Good stuff, I remember that knife well... red with tracer wrap. :D Thanks for the kind words.

That one was one of the original Backpackers, the general shape was one of my first designs. That one and the Kiridashi were early one-off's that I just kept getting orders for!

I'm working on a folder design that is along the lines of the frickie, it is a ways off but stay tuned!

I put one in backwards from normal, it was press fit and since it doesn't matter performance-wise I left it.

As a rule most folders have the pivot on the lock or left frame side. These can be set up either way, same with my Framelocks. On a Framelock everything is built "from" the lock side.

1st the Praise...................I gotta say that those are beautiful, and I love friction folders.
2nd the Noob question.......How in tarnation do you sharpen 72 HRC at home?
3rd an observation............These poster's above me a keen eyed, I didn't catch that one wasn't opened and concealed a Wharnie, or that the pivot screw was opposite. Can't pull anything over on those guys.

Some say we're observant. Others say we need a damn life >_>

You could sharpen it on ceramics or diamond. These won't take much if anything, really. If you use them properly they should self sharpen.

Thank you sir, I somehow imagined it would be much harder to sharpen.

Naw. The thicker layer is titanium which isn't an issue at all. The 72HC Carbide is very thin, just enough to add that razor edge. You'll have no problem. If you somehow screw it up, turn your coffee mug upside down and use the ceramic base to sharpen it back :)

Hey much appreciated! Thanks

They are easy to sharpen and most any setup will do. The burr is very quick to build up and a little tougher than normal to remove, I like scraps of sandpaper and a homemade leather strop for maintaining mine but mostly let it self sharpen on cardboard. Ceramic or diamond is nice but just about anything will bring a nasty edge to Ti/Carbide.

I had a thread on maintaining a carbide edge, I owe you guys another one! I EDC a Backpacker with the Carbide edge and it is one of my most used knives.

Yeah these guys are sharp! :D I was just waiting, lol! :D
