Had this kiridashi done sometime back. Decided to finish it up with wrapped handles and tried out putting on a carbide edge. Base steel is AEB-L. The carbide in the edge is kinda interesting. A bit toothier than my normal stupid sharp edges but it still slices and cuts very well. It does not seem to push cut as well as a high polished edge. But it may last longer for slicing type cuts. Will have to play with it a bit more.
