Carbon blades?

I just bought 2 8OT's (the last 2 from Wal-Mart) and will give them as presents. I read in a previous post that Schrade had switched these over to stainless. Both knives are clampacked and say high carbon steel. There is no Schrade + stamped on the main blade either. Is it fair to say that these are carbon blades. I'd rather not open them to give the lemon test. Any input?

Awww,,,, Go ahead and open one. You can always plead temporary insanity.
Or that you couldn't possibly give a gift that you hadn't completely tested to make sure that it lives up to your standard of knives. :D

It has been mentioned before around here that those can be stainless, I have a 34OT not marked Schrade+ that is stainless, I'll add that personally I find the stainless just fine.
