I'm curious about this piece. For those of you who own one, please share in your opinions. I'm wondering... this the CF version lighter than the regular G10?

Pics would be great too!

Thanks.

DUMDUMDUM ! Here comes FlaMtnBkr to answer your question! He is the man on all things "Rifty"! He's typing as I speak!

I just weighed the CF version and it was 130.0g and the M4 version (with blade coating) was 139.4g. These are both NIB as my other ones are used and one has actually had a noticeable amount of blade sharpened away.

I won't go into my normal 'sales pitch' but the Rift is my favorite knife, period. I have 6 of them including the carbon fiber and a couple M4 versions. The carbon fiber looks really nice but I haven't used it. It does raise the cost of the knife about 50 bucks but that is actually not bad at all for fairly thick carbon fiber with 3D CNC machining. If you like carbon fiber than I say go for it. If not, at least get a plain version to check out cause it is a awesome knife.

G10 and CF are usually very close in weight. The Rift is one of BM's better designs. The only domestic CF Rift had a CPM-154 blade. The higher-performance CPM-M4 version had G10 scales...take your pick or buy both and mix and match.

I have the carbon fiber version and it's hands down my favorite Benchmade. I'm sure the G10-scaled version is great, too. I decide to spring for the CF and am glad I did. I carry mine, carry it a lot. It rivals my large Sebenza for favorite folder in my collection. Here's the two together, almost identical in size and weight.

I have the G10 / CPM 154 version so I can't answer your question exactly, but I did want to say that the Rift is my favorite knife. It's my EDC. It's design, weight, and overall usefulness make it, not the most expensive BM I have but the one I use the most. I find it the most practical overall.

Don't see how you can go wrong either way.

Thank you for this picture. I've been on the fence about getting a Rift for EDC, but the size looks just about right. Having CF would be a nice plus too.

I also consider the 950 Rift CF to be my favorite Benchmade that I own. The reverse tanto blade is what I like the most. I own a gold class Grip and I seem to like the Rift more.

You're welcome. This size of knife (blade length range 3.25 - 3.5) is my favorite. Here's a couple more shots in my average sized hand (I'm 5-9, 160 lbs.)

Wait the CF versions are limited runs? Aww that sucks...thought I could get one in CPM 154 and use it

None of the Rift (or any Benchmade for that matter) use CPM154, just plain ol 154CM.

And who cares if the carbon fiber was a limited run? Use the crap out of it. They are still available from a online vendor (I think, they were a week or two ago).

I read flamtnbkr's posts and got a regular 154cm, love it. A very practical simple design, definitely built to last.

Here is mine with a little bead blast job added on. Zuchus thar Sebenza is out of this world!!!!!! I want.

Some others I use to have, the Rift is one of Benchmade's best designs in years IMO.
