Carbon scales with titanium liners, tweezers and toothpick. This one is put together like a Sebenza with phosphor bronze washers and the pivot pins of a precise length that the outer liners butt up against so the Torx screws can be torqued down. This leaves the tools in a consistent tension so you don't have to keep playing with the screw tension. The washers are all .005" except one next to the main blade which is .020" to make up for the stamped washer area of the stock aluminum liner.

Hate to do it, but here's another WOW! Just doesn't get much better than that.

How?! More appropriately, how much? I want one.

How? I used to be a prototype machinist, then a jeweler and then a gunsmith. And I love Victorinox stuff.
How much? $225 without the tweezers and toothpick, which take me an entire day to make and fit to the scales. Those are an extra $100.

Woah... Now THAT is something to see right there. I'd say that's about the ultimate evolution of the SAK. Great work!

Very nice mods to one of my favorite SAK models. Does the change in pivots/washers translate into different action of the tools as they open and close? I would like to know more about SAK modding. I have never opened up one of mine.

Well, I like to polish contact points on 1911s so I did on all of the backspring and tool contacts too. The pivot holes are drilled out to 1/8" and honed to 600 grit and the pivot pins come with a nice polish on them. I leave the washers finished at 400 grit so the oil can get under them. It's very smooth.

Outstanding!

Very nice, ...just needs the Vic sheild on there somewhere!
