i went on alittle knife shoping spree today, i picked up a 806 but im verry intrested in adding carbon fiber scales. is there any place that sells such a item?

Go to any knife supply company and buy some CF sheet. All you will need is a drill, some sandpaper and a good respirator. Get to work, and it shouldn't be to hard to make some new scales.

The cool thing is if it doesn't work out for you just pop the old scales back on and nobody will know.

hmm i think i'll try this with my mini AFCK i just got. kabar if you want to put our heads together just email me.

Hold on there! It isn't that easy!

You may want to pick a different candidate for a scale project on. Take off the scales on the AFCK and you'll see what I mean. Not only will you have to mill out pockets for the Omega springs, you will also have to find a new way to keep the knife together considering the threaded inserts you'd find on the back side scale.

Look the knife over a bit and you'll see the trouble.

Yeah I guess you are right, I didn't really think it over that much and didn't realize that the knife had no liners.

Anyway if it was me I would still give it a shot, I like playing around with that sort of thing and figuring out how to make it work. It is just more of a challenge now. :)
