Carbon fiber handle

No they are not the same.

No.

Carbon fiber is a laminate made of woven carbon fiber mats that are held together by a resin, usually a transparent one.

G-10 is a glass-based laminate.

No. Carbon fiber is lighter than G10. Carbon fiber is, if I recall, a series of layer's, strong fibers (carbon fibers?) alternating with some sort of resin or epoxy. The epoxy makes the material stiff, the fibers make it strong. G10 is a bit more "homogenous" in its makeup. Both can be finished lots of different ways, so make sure you get a good feel for how the material's finished before you buy. In general, both materials are very strong, but I think folks feel like carbon fiber is a little "nicer", a little more fighter-jet cool.

Oops, fishbulb beat me to it.

G10 is still a laminate, just like carbon fiber.

It just appears more homogenous because the fibers aren't as distinct and the resin is generally not transparent.

Carbon fiber generally commands a bit of a price premium, but this is due more to aesthetics and the bling factor than any sort of performance benefit.

carbon fibre is also hard to work with, although this might only be true of working withe fibres prior to putting them in the resin.
