Carbon Fiber Kopa on the way

After carrying my new Sage I for a month, I think it is my favorite knife. I love the look and texture of the carbor fiber scales, it's smooth opening, great construction, and overall high-class design.

I therefore had a CF Kopa on my wish list as well. Last night I bought (what is claimed to be a new one) for $75 shipped on eBay. I was a little skeptical, but the seller seemed to be U.S. based with 150,000 sales so I thought what the heck.

I hope it's legit and I like it even half as much as the Sage I. Does anybody have both?

Best,
Michael

Relax and enjoy the wait, I'd bet money it's 100% legit. Spyderco must have closed out the CF and Squash Jigged Bone Kopas and the CF Kiwis at phenomenally low prices since many dealers are selling them at prices comparable to what you just paid. The CF is different from that on the Sage, it's a smooth matte finish, but the slightly domed scales of the Kopa create some very interesting patterns compared to flat surfaced CF handles.

The Kopas were made by one of Japan's premier makers and the Sage by a extremely talented Taiwanese maker, fit and finish are excellent on both.

I have the sage1 and gifted a kopa to my father in law. You won't be disappointed with the kopa, it's a great little knife. Almost like a smaller Caly3.

Paul,

Thanks for letting me know. I used Google Product search and the next best price I found was $125, so $74 shipped seemed odd. I thought that all 600 knives produced would already be in the hands or distributors / retailers / customers already, so I wasn't sure where this eBay retailer would have picked up a new one for cheap.

Great picture though! I look forward to comparing the Kopa and Sage.

Best,
Michael

I got one for a very good price from Knifeworks back in November. It is in my pocket right now.

I got my CF Kopa for $75 from ebay (poor_fish). It's a great looking knife, and the perfect "dress folder" size. I love it.

This is a good knife to carry if you are in an office environment because of its small size the sheeple shouldn't throw the book at you and ask if you're going to cut them up.

It's a little gem of a knife whose frame looks and feels as if it's machined out of a solid block of stainless. Only on close inspection can you see that the bolsters, frame, and liners actually are fit together with precision.

The deployment is as smooth as any lockback. My only beef is the size is too small for an EDC. But that's my fault for not checking the dimensions more closely.

It's a little gem of a knife.
