Carbon Fiber ?'s

If Carbon Fiber is "the best" then why do so may knife makers use G10 instead? is it a $$ issue? I would think that many of the top folders would use it.

Who says carbon fiber is "the best"? If this were true then why make high end knives that don't have it?

One issue to conisder is what the knife will be used for. Carbon fiber looks great, but is not stronger than G-10. It also can't be given a rough texture like G-10 can. And yes, it costs more so that is an issue as well.

I have also heard of people having problems with CF chipping, but have no personal experience with this. I think what it boils down to is that every handle material has its fans, and good uses. It is as much a matter of opinion as anything else.
