Does the CF really make enough weight difference that you can tell so during carry?
Scale thickness the same?

How does it compare to the standard 25 with regards to use as well.

thanks much,
B-

The CF scale is the same as the Ti but is indeed lighter. I would say you notice that far more when the knife is in hand than in the pocket though. :)

Thanks, is the CF worth the extra coin in your opinion?

I have stages where I go hot or cold over CF scales, but over all I would say, yes. It is worth dropping the coin for.

The after market rout is also a idea, that way you have Ti and CF....for when you can't make your mind up, like me. :p

I went the after marker route for the very reason Haze stated. I have several 25's and there is a difference in hand between the two. I also have a 21 with a after market CF slab. I find it durable and have no concerns with the strength of the knife. So, yes, it's worth the extra money.

I don't have a scale, and I know they are different model, but my cf 21 is noticeably lighter than my plain ti 25.

Thanks, I'm wanting to shave a few ounces off a 25 as well... a little slimmer would be nice too. :)

That being said👆👆👆👆, if I could do it again, I wish I would have came across a 25 cf when I purchased mine... Although I got a great deal fwiw

Sorry to get off topic, but can CF scale be brought back to like-new via spa?

Nope, they won't do anything to the cf. Having said that they can be polished up with a few products. You'd have to do a search for which ones as I can't remember. I use Renaissance wax on all my cf.

Actually, they seem to have changed their minds. I called and asked after posting because I was really curious. They said they will polish it for $30 if it's only lightly scratched. If it's really beat up and beyond polishing, they will ask if you want it replaced for $150.

Wow, that's great news! I'm glad to be wrong this time! Thanks for taking the time to inquire and update us all.

Edit: I just can't see CRK doing this with an exclusive to one of the top dealers around. Did they request to have you send in your knife for a "replacement" scale only or did they say you can buy one outright?

Sorry for my poor wording. You can send in a carbon fiber and have the cf side polished or replaced. You can't buy the slabs for any knife though. You must send in a cf knife.

In other words, if you want a cf knife, you have to buy it from KA. If you own a cf knife, CRK can polish/replace the cf side
