Is it me, or does no one like the Carbon Fiber Sebenzas ..... ??? They are for sale everywhere, on all the forums, the big auction site, everywhere. Many I see popping up are the same ones ( number versions ). Has anyone else noticed this ???

I have a G10 scale for a large regular sebenza and as much as I love the look of it, I just dont use it. To me, it kinda throws the balance off on the knife.
And also :eek: It gives it that cheap strider feel :eek:.........!!!

I think people are trying to cash in on them. I have seen the numbered ones selling for a $200 premium.
I have one and I really like it.

Maybe I have missed them here, but I have tried to score one a couple of times with no luck. I dont think they are for everyone. As for giving a $200 premium, one word........no. As the owner of one of the first numbered Insingo I think it takes away from the overall look of the knife. I would much rather have one that is plain. But I use my knives. If I dont use them, they end up belonging to someone else.

I never thought the carbon fibers were worth the premium over the regular all titanium Sebenzas .Id rather buy a regular Sebenza and if I wanted a carbon fiber scale I would have
a "pimper" make one and now I still have the titanium scale if I wanted to switch back. I would love to see some carbon fiber inlays on a 21 though. That I would definitely pay a premium.

I think I saw the large #10 sold two or three times, and agree that the number available here and on the bay have been pretty high. Not sure what to make of it yet, but people are asking a premium.

I am waiting for a small CF Insingo to be offered.

I actually liked the one I had, but needed to fund something else shortly after buying, so I sold it here on BF for no profit, just recoup funds.

I don't like any scales aside from the factory titanium slabs. I didn't pay for a 5 dollar G10 scale. I Don't personally want carbon fiber on a knife either.

I have both and I'm loving the small better than the large. The large is beautiful but the small is outstanding, I am also waiting for the same people to start selling the small.

I wish we would see some CF inlays. The most beautiful folder Ive ever seen was a damascus sebbie with CF inlay. I saw a pic of it here on the forum once and have never been able to find it again.

EDIT Found it! Now i just have to figure out how to stop drooling.

I seem to see the same dynamic with a lot of sprint run knives - the pre-orders fill up almost overnight, and then a few weeks after the knives start hitting the street they pop up in the Exchange and other places, most times with a premium attached.

I actually considered having a carbon fiber scale made for one of my existing sebenzas, and talked myself out of it. I thought the weight difference would be noticeable and be a bother to me.

Yeah, that is awesome. I have been wanting a ladder damascus sebenza forever.

Regular profile, ladder damascus, inlayed carbon fiber works on that IMO :)

i didn't care for the weight of the large. It almost felt like a toy. I haven't had a chance to play with a small cf seb, but i think it being small and lightweight would work. The large(umnum/lg seb) ones i definitely enjoy their original weight

kalel's picture is awesome. i love that combo, and i'm sure the weight would great. 2012 annual? i'm down :)

I think this one would look perfect with stainless Damascus.

I can't talk for any one else, but I personally go through stages of liking Ti over CF. The carbon fiber scales I have for the Sebenza and Umnumzaan are after market so can easily be swapped back and forth as I see fit. Having CF as standard means that is not an option, people may just get tired of the knife and sell it on given they can't just swap the scales back. I know I prefer Ti a large amount of the time but do have CF days now and then.

While I like carbon fiber, I like the classic all titanium look of the Sebenza better. To me seeing CF on the Sebenza breaks the classic look.

I like CF, but seem to like a textured more than polished. The polished feels a bit slippery to me. I have seen this trend with other knives-when something new comes out it sometimes takes awhile for the knives to settle into the hands of those who really like them. After that you rarely see them for sale. I think a lot of people buy just to see if they would like them, and if they are not totally thrilled they sell. At least that is what I did with the CF Large Seb.
