I just found some carbon fiber sebies on the web and being that i am a avid ul backpacker I find the 3.7oz very sexy. Plus I love the carbon fiber look. I have a few questions for you knife and chris reeve experts.
1) How will the carbon fiber scale hold up to daily use etc etc?
2) This willbe my first crk knife and i been reading about crk fakes. Is that just ebay where that happens or can i accidently buy a crk from one of his dealers?

I have been EDCing a small cf sebenza since April. It is holding up great. The light weight is awesome it disappears in my pocket. I scuffed my carbon fiber when I dropped it four feet onto the concrete, but that will happen to any knife. If you buy from Kinfeart you will receive an authentic CRK with no worries. If you purchase a cf sebbie you will not be disappointed.

Yeah if I were you I'd snap up that one on Knifeart can't go wrong there. I wouldn't wait either if you really want one. When they are gone they are gone.

The carbon fiber sebenzas are extremely light but maintain the sturdy, perfectly tuned sebenza finish we have all grown to love. I had one that I would have loved to keep, but the carbon fiber scales are only for the 21 and I much prefer the classics, so I sold mine. However, it would make a great EDC and the weight difference is very noticeable.

In my humble experience, carbon fiber offers a lighter, attractive option on a Sebenza, or another framelock, for that matter. There are some very trustworthy members selling their used Sebenzas from time to time on the sales forum here at BladeForum but a word to the wise, make sure you are 100 % comfortable with your seller before you commit to buy.

I didn't carry mine but it seemed as sturdy as any other CRK that I've owned. I was able to look a small over that'd been edc'd and it was prettier than most of my edc Seb's- don't know how hard he used the knife though.

I feel pretty confident in saying that you'll be very happy with it if you buy it.

I don't have a CF Sebenza but my last EDC was a CF Spyderco Sage and I currently carry a small Sebenza 21. The CF scales on the Sage held up phenomenally well. I just posted this elsewhere but after 4 years of EDC in my pocket, you couldn't tell that the knife had ever been carried by looking at the scales. I don't mind the battle scarred look of my ti Sebenza but I feel like the CF holds up better, if only aesthetically. And if course it's super light.

Please be very careful and buy from an authorized dealer or at least have us check it out first, there are so many fakes hitting the market.

Thanks franz that is what i was concerned about. I was going to get the carbon one from knife art, which someone earlier said they are good there, or get the dog paw one from dog paw knives.

You're good to go with the art site. The fourth or fifth CRK I bought was a carbon fiber small off the exchange from a member with great feedback, but when I got it I was convinced it was fake at first. It was SO much lighter than the other smalls I had. The Idaho Made stamp wasn't quite as deep, either (some are, some aren't).
But after careful examination it seemed to me to be authentic.
If a carbon fiber winds up as your first, you'll be amazed how much heavier your inevitable second will feel...

The light weight is great, but somehow I expect a Sebenza to have a bit of heft, if you know what I mean.

It doesn't become as lite as a feather but rather gives the small sebenza (that I have) a better balance IMHO. You have to hold one in your hand to know what I mean.

I just ordered a large carbon fiber from Knifeart this morning. This will be my second Sebenza my first was a large 21 Gabon Ebony inlays stainless raindrop damascus. I want to use the carbon fiber as my edc knife.

I have smooth carbon fiber scales on my Hinderer which I EDC everyday for over a year and it looks great. I am not easy on my knives so I am sure you will be happy with your Sebenza. Has anyone ever seen CF for a Zaan?

Will Lightning Strike Carbon suffice?
